1.3 miles – flat - slow to moderate pace. Reservations required: Call Jane 631-689-1568. Originally owned by the Gardiner family, Suffolk's first non-native landowners, it later became the right-of-way for the Gardiner’s to access the bay from their historic Sagtikos Manor Estate. The estate home, across the street, is preserved as a museum. Gardiner Park is now a 231-acre nature-oriented public park on the Great South Bay. Dogs are welcome here but please don’t bring them for our walk. No restrooms on site. The parking lot is south of Montauk Highway (Route 27A), about ½ mile east of Robert Moses Causeway. GPS: 869 Manor Lane, Bayshore. Rain, wet snow, or more than 5 inches of snow on the ground cancels this event. Hike end time is approximate.
