HIKE MUTTONTOWN PRESERVE, E. NORWICH

3+ mi. - 2 hrs. - rolling & flat – moderate pace. Reservations required: call Jane 631-689-1568. This 550-acre plot of fields, woodlands, ponds and estate grounds is Nassau County's largest nature preserve. Hear about and see the ruins of the King Zog mansion. Learn about some of the many native and non-native plants on the grounds. If it recently rained, the ground will be wet and slippery. Restrooms may not be open. Beverage suggested. Rain cancels. Meet at the Bill Patterson Nature Center. Address: 38 Muttontown LANE (off route 25A in E. Norwich). Hike end time is approximate.
