2.6 mi. – moderate pace – rolling –– Registration required: Call or email Jane 631-689-1568 or jfasullo2@gmail.com.  EXPLORATORY. The preserve has ‍‌‌close to 500 acres with up to 14 miles of trails. The trails have an abundance of wildlife and a large water-filled kettle hole formed more than 10,000 years ago that contains fish, including largemouth bass and rainbow trout. The trails are all in a hardwood forest dominated by oaks, hickories, beeches, and maples. The Preserve was created from protecting over 18 parcels, assembled over nearly 15 years! The final piece enabled the creation of a trailhead to access the trails around Laurel Lake between the Main and North Roads. The Preserve’s wildlife includes otters, snapping turtles, foxes and deer. The plan is to take the short loop but if all are willing, we may add more miles. ‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌Rain cancels.
