The Long Island Greenbelt Trail Conference has entered into a long-term agreement with Suffolk County to steward the Raymond P. Corwin Pine Barrens Trail Center and the historic Manorville Church at Robert Cushman Murphy County Park.

For the next 10 years, we'll be caring for these special places, maintaining the buildings, welcoming visitors, providing trail maps and information, and creating a gathering place for hikers, volunteers, and the community.

The Trail Center is much more than a place to begin a hike. It's a gateway to the Central Pine Barrens and a place where visitors can learn about Long Island's unique natural heritage and the more than 150 miles of Greenbelt trails our organization has helped build and maintain.

It's especially meaningful that the Trail Center bears the name of Raymond P. Corwin, whose passion for conservation and trail stewardship helped shape the Greenbelt Trail Conference for decades. We are honored to continue his legacy by making this space a welcoming resource for everyone who wants to experience the beauty of the Pine Barrens.
