On the day after the New Year begins, enjoy a tour-de-force through Hither Hills State Park. We’ll hike to the Nominicks Overlook on the west, then to The Notch (just outside Hither Hills State Park but still in Hither Woods) on the east. In between we will pass Fresh Pond, the Waterfence Overlook, and the coastline at Flaggy Hole. This hike will not lack for water views! Finally, we’ll turn for home on the ever challenging Serpent’s Back Trail. Meet 10:00 a.m. at Hither Hills Overlook (West Overlook), north side of Route 27, Montauk. Bring snacks & liquids. Hike end time is approximate.
